The Chainon Company is a leader in a powerful area called “mechanism-based” discovery of d ocosahexaenoic acid (DHA; 22:6n-3) - containing phospholipid brain DHA donors, which employ s multi-disciplinary science, including chemistry, biochemistry and pharmacology, to identify and better understand the mechanisms by which DHA can be transported into the brain by phospholipid based transporter s and the basic function of the donors on the prevention and treatment of age - dependent basal forebrain chlinergic neuron dysfunction related neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer's d isease (AD).

Using our approach, we can design and develop novel DHA phospholipids from a variety of starting points, in particular how DHA phospholipid carriers metabolite and further pass across the blood-brain barrier. Once we have identified the likely mechanisms of action of the target and characterized the properties of the DHA brain donors, we use the new methods to extract new natural materials for preparing n ovel brain DHA donor products and related drug candidates.
